Should grow out of it in an Epoch or two.
Sorry about being somewhat off topic, but I needed a laugh, wanted to share.

Janus.

I also kinda sounds like Kakaroth, which if I remember, is the Dragon Ball protag Goku's original name

I agree. The name "Ultima Thule" sounds more suitable and attractive, considering it is at the outer bounds of our planetary Solar System.

I think one reason "Ultima Thule" was rejected is because there's already an asteroid named Thule. But personally I like the name Arrokoth. It may mean "sky", but I agree with Janus that it sounds like some eldritch horror from the underworld, which fits with the names of plutinos. And it's certainly better than Gonggong. :wink:

Recall that the name Ultima Thule was always meant as a nickname, since "2014 MU69" is quite unwieldy.

@Art Blos

What time period for Halley's is covered?
I ask because I am working on a personal theory that it is in resonance with Orcus, mostly known as the anti pluto.
Longer time periods or more accurate orbits would help with that.

@Art Blos

Can it accurately project further?
Any idea what level of accuracy when doing so?

I am also interested in comparing it to establish-able ages at Gobeklitepe and other ancient sites.
Using radio carbon & tree ring data to get high resolution dates.

I used maximum data from the HORIZONS interface. Beyond the above years remains usual Kepler orbit, giving noticeable errors.

@Art Blos

Thank you for the improved data.
It gives me a better baseline for brute force calculations than I had before.
Should be lots of fun.

Hey folks! I have already added all the new names and numbers of asteroids which you reported in my topics. But if there is anything else, please inform me as soon as possible.

I have a question: Would you consider adding Vision's Black Hole addons into your upcoming Celestia Origin Version 10? After all, he's a member of your team and thus, you can use whatever he had, provided you have his permission. So far, he has made 2 Black Hole addons public, with more to come:

1= Milky Way Center 2.0
2= NGC 1600 Black Hole (To see this specific addon however, one either has to use a commit by Janus which increases stellar render distance to 1 GLY, or wait for the next Celestia 1.7.0 snapshot, which now has the 1 GLY render distance)

Thanks in advance

He himself repeatedly asked me about this, but I do not have enough time.

Ahhh. Well, perhaps not in version 10 but maybe along the way during CO's future development beyond 10, perhaps you'll have enough time to incorporate his addons into CO. Besides, it would also be better if he releases a few more black hole addons first so that it would be expansive

I will find time to do the Mac version later, it should not be too hard. since my Mac runs only 64bit only, so I can only test if 1.6.2 works. and last time I checked there was issue with Lua for the getn thing.
