I downloaded Celestia 1.7.0 from https://celestiaproject.space/download.html
I therefore added the new Celestia 1.7.0 custom language settings to Notepad++.
The list of new parameters can be found on the page https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Celestia/1.7.0_Changes#Units.
I found the following line in the stars-named.ssc file of distribution 1.7.0:
Radius<cm> 7.4e8 # R = (7.4 + 0.4 - 0.3)e8 cm
cm for centimeter, surprising for a star to speak in centimeters
Radius<cm> is not in Wikibooks, so does it actually exist or is it an error in the file?
Added after 41 minutes 40 seconds:
In both versions, you are using GeomAlbedo, which is a parameter from 1.7.0 and not 1.6.1.
simply replace it with Albedo

Pulsar "planets" have so far had unknown radii calculated like any other gas giant. But this sometimes gives radii that would overflow their Roche lobe. I have added a check for pulsar planets with periods < 2 days to reduce the radii of planets down to the "volume equivalent sphere radius" of a Roche lobe where applicable, with that value coming from equation 2 of Eggleton (1983). The screenshot below shows the before/after for PSR J0312-0921. Other systems like PSR J1326-4728H showed pulsar "planets" that were much too close to their hosts, due to a bug in how semi-major axes were calculated for compact stars. I have corrected this issue. These changes impact about half of known close-in pulsar "planet" systems.
I've been continuing to use the older Celestia 1.6 for a while so only recently have I learned of a years-long issue where the night texture from an .ssc object is not carried over when a file uses the "Modify" tag to change a planet. So if you've been using extrasolar_atmospheres.ssc on Celestia 1.7 versions for at least the past two years, it has been wiping out the night side textures. I wish I had known about this sooner. Until this bug gets fixed, I have added a night texture definition where appropriate in the extrasolar_atmospheres.ssc file.

Good catch! Thank you. This should be fixed now. As for the unit declaration in the stars-named file, I don't have anything to do with that.gironde wrote:In both versions, you are using GeomAlbedo, which is a parameter from 1.7.0 and not 1.6.1.
