Post #161by Sirius_Alpha » 04.08.2024, 20:33

There has been a real dry spell for TESS candidate planets recently. So for the second month in a row, we don't really have many new TESS candidates to add. Only TOI-7032 is a new candidate transiting planet system.

This post marks the 5th anniversary of this ongoing project to bring all known planets into Celestia for the community to explore. A huge thank-you to you all who keep me going and help with corrections and updates.

Post #163by Sirius_Alpha » Today, 04:00

A recent paper by E. Evans, et al. found that the planet at Kepler-1652 probably doesn't orbit the primary. There's a 29% chance it orbits the Kepler-1652 B, and 63% chance it orbits Kepler-1652 C. The radius of the planet is 2.17, 2.48 and 2.90 RE, and the equilibrium temperature is 573, 402 and 348 K, if it orbits the primary, secondary or tertiary respectively. Kepler-1652's planet has gained some interest for being a habitable planet candidate, and there have been addons made of it by our community. Since this update moves the planet to the tertiary star, it may break those addons. In any event, it's almost certain that the planet is not a viable habitable planet candidate now.
