how did you make the texture?SpaceExplorer wrote:Finally, here is Straerus, a giant planet in the Oort Cloud. I was even able to anticipate the addon's release. With only 15 moons, I was able to make better general parameters (orbitals, size, etc). All moons are irregular, comets captured by the planet. Straerus is 0.40 ly away from the Sun and an orbital period of 5.45 million years. Straerus doesn't have auroras, it's too far from the heliosphere for that.

There is a limit to how far we can travel into the stars.

There's not much to say about this simple image, right? But there is one thing that intrigues: The dark area in the center. That is, nothing less than a black hole. Better, a mini black hole. 10 centimeters in diameter, located 0.25 ly away from the Solar System.
If it really existed, it wouldn't affect us, but if you in your spaceship ran into this little monster, it wouldn't be any good.
To find this mini black hole, search your browser for Celestia: Solar System Black Hole

Here's a little update for my fictional moons of Saturn, Salne and Stradus. Added "LunarLambert" parameter, which improves the view of objects in Celestia. I learned that this parameter should not be missing, as it makes the view of the object more interesting.

NEW ADDON
Here is Akaris, a gas giant more than twice as big as Jupiter, which passes through the inner Solar System between 1999 and 2000. Note that this is just the 1st version of this addon. The next ones will include moons, and who knows, a closer approach to Earth. This is somewhat reminiscent of the hypothetical/fictional Hercolubus.
