A point sprites map showing the global heat flow of the Earth.
Samples of the Earth's heat flow at crust level. Do not confuse with the heatflow's density map.
All data comes from: <http://www.heatflow.und.edu/index2.html> and are coded using the visible
light spectrum (blues = low heat flow, reds = high heat flow). A spectral legend is included.
Respect to the very detailed one of the site, the spectrum's values have been reduced in seven
ranges: 0-40, 40-60, 60-85, 85-120, 120-180, 180-240, 240-350 and above (up to 10000 mW/m^2).
These ranges are conforming to the heat flow density map as simulated from the database above.
For the IHFC simulation of the density map: <http://www.iaspei.org/brochure/brochure.html>.

Massimo,
thanks for your work; I'm interested in such things.
But the link is broken. I get this message only: Pagina non trovata...
And I guess it is not meant an opera by Giuseppe Verdi

Re: Earth's global heat flow
Thank you, Michael. Fixed. Now the "page is found".
EDIT LATER:
Not important, but the Verdi's opera is entitled "La Traviata" which mean both a female person with psicologic troubles and a female innocent person which others have plagiarized toward indecent behavior.
Never at rest.
