Hello,

I just wanted to know what one can use Celestia for without infringing copyright or such.

Would appreciate it if you could just give me a quick answer for the following

questions.

1) If one makes a movie file say of a planet orbiting or something using celestia is it OK

to put it on one's own website for non commercial, just educational purposes? Or does

one have to pay a license fee?

2) If I took pictures of the planets in celestia to display on my website for fun or education

is that allowed or not?

Thankyou if you can clear that up

The use of Celestia itself for any purpose (like creating movies) does not require any license fees. You agreed to abide by the GNU General Public License when you installed Celestia. The text of the license is available in Celestia's Help menu.

However, the use of various Addons depends on their individual licenses. Many of them forbid commercial use.
