I'm having a similar problem as smjjames. I'm also new to Celestia. I've tried to add add-ons from the Motherlode and cannot get the Don Edwards "Pale Blue Dot" DDS files to load. How do you load them. I've placed one so far in "medres" file, and so far...nothing.

Also, I'm having trouble with Jestr's 64K file on Earth. I unzipped it and placed the "JestrEarth JPG" file in the Extras section as described and nothing. When I click on "alternate textures" or whatever it is, there is nothing but clouds on the earth, no texture. It's really maddening.

I did, however, get Coruscant to work on the first go-around, hehe. It's really frustrating though, as I'd like to see these. I really like the program so far.

What kind of graphics hardware do you have?
Older cards cannot display DDS textures.

Also, getting VTs to work properly isn't always easy.
