Hi everybody, hi Chris,

I'd like to let u know that my first Hoshikaze pics from Celestia are online ! I'm happy, u know :))

Hoshikaze is my Sci-Fi universe & i intend to describe each important stellar system w/ a few celestia pics. For now i'm practicing on our good'ol' Solar system, adding hyperspace jump points & so on ^-^ The pics are in v058, go to the update page ("Derni?res modifications", the direct link is here).

I use the PNG export for the full images, then ACDSee Photo Enhance for 200 pixel height thumbnails. Couldn't get correct results w/ JPG export.

Ben j'ai regard? sur le site, mais je n'ai pas vu les images.
Tu ne peux pas donner le lien direct ?

Here's a direct link:

Mutos, I look forward to seeing pics for more solar systems!

Hi Chris, hi all,

The problem w/ the link is, that the site is frame-based & the page can not be correctly viewed outside. The correct way is to enter into the site frames & go to the page like this :

- Type http://hoshikaze.net
You get to a counter page, then u're redirected to the current version, v057
- You have on the top a list of versions, click on the v058 link
You get to the same page, but w/o link on v058 & w/ a link to v057
- Click on the "enter" or on the banner, to load the frame structure
You get a menu on the left & contents on the right
- Click on "Derni?res modifications" on the menu
You get to an update page w/ on most recent a link to the Sol system
- Click on the link to Sol system
You get to the Sol system description page

It seems a little long when written, but it's simple when before the browser. Navigate & enjoy ^-^

Hi everybody, hi Chris,

As for other stellar systems, did I said "practicing" ? For now, I played w/ ssc files, sorted out which Celestia data I want to work on, how i would organize my own Hoshikaze filesets, how existing data could be merged or changed. In fact I worked only on the PROCESS of building jumppoints, stations, planets & entire systems, getting pics of them & integrating them into the site structure.

For now, I've just that : the workshop is nearing completion, two systems are on the bench & i'm working on them. More results to show soon !

I already built a Solar system w/ jumppoints, first achievement, noticeable enough to claim but it's only the first step. It lacks planetary stations, jumppoints beacons & other proofs of civilization !

I got another system under development : Drom, the cradlesystem for the Rithai spacegoing species. But for now it's far from being complete & not even decently displayable... It's got only 3 planets out of 6 & not even a single moon, let alone any asteroid !

I'll let u know when more pics come...

Hi everybody,

First 2 pics for Drom, the Rithai home system : internal & external system, only showing the orbits.

I'm now working on Drom hyperspace jump points. Then, I want to make a page for each planet, showing views of the planet, maybe stations if i can make & export suitable models w/ Doga.

To view, same link, same procedure as above : v058, then "Derni?res modifications" & u'll see the direct link.

Hi everybody, hi Chris,

Been fiddling 'round w/ Celestia & exported some more pics. They are in v058 preview. However, the Sol system page 'll be undergoing great changes as i'm still searching for the right way to present a stellar system in a clear & schematic way.

I've built some stations w/ DoGA L1, they are crude, untextured models, but they give a good sense of what i imagine. Use 3DWin to convert from .x to .3ds. Just discovered free version has textures disabled. Apart from that, it seems DoGA L2 doesn't anyway write textures correctly to .x files as I can't get them through in other 3D packages.

So : still lots of work to be done, but it's beginning to look like sth ^-^

Hi everybody,

The presentation format is ready & i just uploaded all the solar system images : the planets, major satellites and year 2250 major orbital stations.

Just didn't have time to image some objects in the Kuiper belt, Oort cloud & to devise images of mobile community stations & merchant vessels against a fine background...

Wouldn't be fun if there were no more work to do ^-^

Hi everybody,

Been a long time since I last posted, but now there's a second star system in Hoshikaze. It's Drom, the Rithai species' home system. I created it running StarGen & picking planets & satellites from the generated files. I added crude home-made space stations, made w/ DoGA, the japanese CGI beginner's package.

Now I'm working on Ek'in, home system for the K'rinn species, still w/ the same tools. In Celestia, i now export in JPG as PNG are so fat, JPG take 3 times less space. Anyway, if i keep on generating systems i'll run out of space one day in my 100 Mb account ^-^ The quality issue is a problem only w/ a system's orbits synthesis images.

Also on track for a menu manager in PHP/MySQL, that would allow to enter the site directly into any page instead of having to get by the entry page first.

Hi everybody,

Corrected some minor problems w/ pics ref on some pages. Thanks Selden for warning ! From now & for some time there will be no new planetary systems because we're engaging in the process to build an Hoshikaze RPG adaptation on BaSIC rules & play a scenario by end of may at an RPG conv', so this'll take all of our time ! There's also the project of a short stories illustrated book that's taking shape. So expect no fresh pics. But I'll contact Rassilon & give the stations X files for download on his site.
