Hello all,
I have just found this program today and think it will be great to use with my kids, but I have a problem with add-ons. I clicked the link to down load Celestia but the program that I got is called Stellarium. Did the name change with a new build or are they 2 different programs? I remember Keyhole becoming Google earth. Did the same thing happen here? Anyway, when I down load an add on, I check the read me file for install info. The file placement that the read me file states does not seem to be an option because the file or location is not there. I did find my images and they are in .png format, but none of the add ons I have seen so far are in that format. Has anyone else seen this or am I just mixing up programs and add ons? If I am where is an install download for Celestia. I saw one link, but it seemed to goto a personal web space with many many files there that were all diferent in name. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,

No, Ceslestia and Stellarium are not the same soft.

Try to download from the official site:

Thanks for your help, Elchristou.
This is rather embarrassing now. Apparently, a link I took from sourceforge redirected me to this Stellarium. Thanks for the link to the correct program.

You may also want to give your kids an opportunity to take a set of detailed journeys through Celestia space, which are available on our education page. Those journeys are currently being revised for 2005 and will be updated on our website within two weeks or so. You can find them at:

However I think Stellarium is a nice addition, especially for viewing the night sky from earth at a given moment. In Celestia it's not very easy to get something that looks and works the same.
