Dual Channel memory in Celestia

Since the dual channel memory has larger bandwidth, should I expect any improvement in Celestia speed, over single channel memory? If not,I would like to know why so many people are acquiring dual channel memories.

The parts of Celestia that use the CPU will run faster, of course, so slightly higher frame rates should be possible.

People get dual channel systems because that's what are available.
Whatever techniques can be used to get data in and out of memory faster will help Celesita (or any compute-bound program) run faster.

High-end server systems have more than just two memory channels.
