New computer arriving!

I am ordering a new computer:
Athlon 64 939 3000
1 GB RAM PC 3200 Kingston Value Series Dual Channel
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
VGA Geforce 6600 GT PCI-E
HD 160 GB SATA
DVDRW LG

Is it a nice computer for Celestia?
Maybe the slowdowns in the scripts will be finished...

Daniel,

That looks like a very good computer to me!

It won't eliminate all of the slowdowns, but they'll be much shorter.
The slowdowns and pauses won't be eliminated until Celestia's I/O routines are rewritten.

Do you know exactly which model of HD you will be getting?

A minor suggestion: you might want to consider ECC memory.
It is slightly slower than non-ECC memory, but the system will immediately detect if the memory is having problems. You don't have to worry if a program or system glitch might be due to memory problems and run lots of memory diagnostics to find out.

Talking about the video card.
Is the clouds and rings texture size related to the memory, only?
If,so,my 6600 GT 128 MB will only be able to exhibit textures until 4k for clouds, rings and meshes.Exactly like my present Geforce FX 5700.
Is another video card in SLI do any help?
