addons in linux?

greetings!
new user to linux here. installed the newest binary rpm for celestia and works great!! i'd love to use some of the addons for this prog but i'm not sure where exactly to put the files. i've searched through the forum and only really found help for windows users. from what i gathered from those posts is that some files belong in an "extras" folder and such. if i installed to /usr/bin should i make an "extras" folder in there? any help would be fantastic.
