Celestia Screenshot Contest for April 2005

Post #1by jgrillo2002 » 01.04.2005, 05:10

Hello. this is the 2nd month of the contest but I wont be saying that anymore. there are New rules now as I have discovered 8O

1 picture per person :( . becuase I have experienced problems with the poll config of this forum. it can only allow 10 people to be in the poll  . if there are more than 10 people and have made single pics, I can make a 2nd topic for the same poll. :D also if you are trying to submit a pic here but dont want to enter this months, please dont submit it here. this topic is only intended for people that want to submit their pic to the contest.

Most of the rules are the same as last months.

use thumbnails

resolution 800x600 and 1024x768 only

New paparazzis for the contest  , please note that if you dont know the rules. please take a look at the march edition. :)

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Here we go again :D. Hopefully the contest will be a little more organised this time. I've got my picture, Akiten from the Lera System:

I've heard that the Shoemaker-Levy 9 fragments crashing into Jupiter left holes in the planet's atmosphere, but Akiten's case is just ridiculous.

I'd like to enter :)

Here's my screenshot. Here, a double eclipse occurs on a terraformed volcanic world.

Hah hah

No, my computer says that once in a while, even when the fps is 20 or so. Just bad timing, that's all ;) :D

EDIT: But I do admit that yes, my computer does get that slow when viewing some of the higher res world textures. 4k is the highest my cpu can handle. 8k textures kills it--I need to restart after waiting 30 minutes just to click the "close" button in the upper right corner.

Maybe only close the contests only when we get 10 screenshot entries as that is as many as the phpBB poll will allow and if we get the same number of screenshots each time it is more fair. (If there is only about two in one contest it is easier to win.) And 10 is a good rounded-off number.

Hello everyone.
It's nice to find someplace where some young nerd hasn't taken my name just for the purpose of taking a name. Guess I got lucky today...

Just wondering if the contest was still open...
I have plenty of really awesome shots ready; the hard part is deciding which one to submit. But if the contest is over, I won't bother.

Be back soon. :)

Damnit... One day late! Figures...
I won't be around during the summer: no internet connection at home. There won't be a May contest? Drat!
