Celestia and Geforce

I'm now the proud owner of a snappily-titled cheap and cheerful Geforce2 MX400 64Mb, replacing my awful Celestia-hating Rage 128.
So, my basic question is - how do I get the most out of Celestia with a Geforce 2? E.g., drivers, config settings, bump maps, specular maps, otherkindsof maps, and especially what hires DXT textures are available. Thanks!

I would like to know a few things about this too, I have just upgraded from my ageing TNT2 32MB to my new baby a MSI GeForce4 Ti4400 128 DDR

Hey guys.
Just download the newest drivers from NVidia for your operating system witch ever version of windoz it happens to be. Or if you use Linux there are drivers there for that as well. Get them installed and then run Celestia. Now in Celstia go to Render on the menu and go down to Use Pixel Shaders & Use Vertex Shaders and click on each. This will give you the ability to see those speculars or bumpmapped surfaces you were missing out on. Don't expect miracles at this point as Chris still needs to code in more goodies but you should be inpressed with what you see. Be sure to check throughout the forum for the location of those textures that have specular chanels built in. Have fun.
