Im creating an earth zoom in sequence using TrueSpace (caligari.com). By that I mean I a video sequence...AVI 720x480 format. To do this I am creating a 3d model of the SS and adding textures/effects/etc.
I just discovered Celestia...awesome product. I did a quick searh for Video export but did not see anything. Can Celestia export 3dmodels of the solar system using...so that the video I create has realistic location/positions (as the camera moves thru)?
I've seen the readme.txt links for planet textures...and they are great. If anyone has advice/experience creating a 3d SS flyby (for video) please let me know if you have advice.
thanks
Exporting 3DS models and/or Video?
In the Windows version of Celestia, you can select the menu File / Capture Movie. It's not yet available in the Mac version. I'm not sure about the Linux version.
Celestia is not designed to export objects or positions, only to import them. You might want to investigate JPL's Horizons Ephemeris service at http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons.html which is designed to provide accurate positions for all solar system bodies.
