Motherlode Update

Hello everyone,
We here at the Motherlode team just updated the site with a few major and many many minor add-ons. The major ones from the top of my head are a brand new set of Frank's Educational activites with their own page, Steve Bowers' Orion's Arm Universe, and lots of the documentation, close-up textures, and add-ons you can't get enough of.

Thanks a bunch to the team for their tireless work and to everyone who contributed.

This is also significant time because it marks the end of my tenure marshalling the awesome force that is the Motherlode. I have a lot on my platter right now, and I really need to concentrate on some other things, like graduating from college for starters. I'll still be around, but just a bit rarer.

if you think you would like to take up some slack, please use the contact form to get in touch with someone who can point you in the right direction. Thanks!

Joe

Hello,

The "Five new cities" update goes to a "link to us" page.

Is there an installation FAQ for the Motherlode add-ons? The read-me's are clearly there and informative, but I seem to not be able to understand them. Lacking that, is there an extremely patient person who might be willing to go through a couple of these with me off-forum? I'm mostly getting my feet wet playing with scripts, but everybody loves eye candy...

Hi Russ,
There's no such thing as an installation FAQ for the Motherlode add-ons because the motherlode add-ons aren't of any one format. They are all ones that were collected from the creator's original sites. If you check Selden's page and the Motherlode documentation page, and do a little hacking, you should be able to figure out how to cope with any failings in the add-on readme's. If add-ons are packaged sub-optimally, please get permission from the creator and re-submit the packages so that no one has to go through the same trouble that you did.

Thanks,
Joe

I'll go back through it and see what I didn't understand the first time... as soon as I've got it down better, I'll see what I can do for dox, if it's not just a case of me being a dumbass.

Russ,

If you can provide a description of the "obvious", I could include it on my Web page. It's amazing how often we assume "Well, of course, you have to..." when it's not at all obvious what that should be.
