Beginner problems ...

Hi everybody.

I'm a Celestia beginner and have read the documentation file from the Celestia website (English MS Word version).
Two little problems occurred.

1. On page 16 there is a screenshot of a scene with the spacecraft Voyager 2 (figures 20-22). Klicking the link, Celestia only shows the starry space background without Voyager 2.
The View Options settings should be correct.
Do I need an add-on to be able to see the Voyager 2 spacecraft?

2. Seeing the names of locations on earth being displayed, I tried the "Enter/Name/Enter" method. But the displayed location names did not appear in the locations' list. On earth only moon, ISS, Hubble and some others were available, but not the cities. I followed the instructions on page 28 precisely. What could be wrong?

Celestia is an amazing program. I like it very much after knowing it very little. The described problems are not much important, but I'm looking forward to find a solution.
Maybe someone can give me help ... thank you very much!

Greetings from Bavaria
Andy

a. There is a german version available here.

b. You need a voyager addon - or use the all-spacecrafts-collection from my website, so you got all at once.

c. Never tried this, so I don't know the answer.

Andy,
In Celestia go to Render\Locations

Check the box Label Features

c. I tried it now:

Check the Label Features box AND make shure that you are following (Menu->Goto or Menu->Follow) the desired planet/moon/object.

Hi maxim and Dollard,

first, thank you very much for your answers.
To the second problem:
If the check box isn't activated, the location names aren't displayed.
But the box is activated and I can see location names as "Bangkok", "Singapore", "Tokyo" and "Berlin" on the surface of earth.
When I'm following earth, I press the enter key and enter "Earth/" and a list with the names "Mir", "Moon", "Hubble" and "ISS" appears. The other locations, which I still can see on the the planet's surface, are not listed.
I thought that all visible locations could also be chosen as destination.
Maybe I'm wrong. But in the documentation "Earth/Cairo" is given as an example.

Just type 'Cairo'. No need to type 'Earth/' before it.

Thank you for your patience, maxim.

I've tried it with and without typing "Earth/". I don't think it's a typing problem. I just can't get the cities being displayed in the target list and therefore can't select them. Does it work with your celestia installation?

Menu->Locations->Label Features [checked].
Select Earth -> Goto Earth.
[Return]->Cairo->[Tab]->[Return]->[G] (=Goto).

This will select and center Cairo on my machine (V1.3.2pre8). You may use the scrollwheel then to zoom in and out.

I got it now. Thank you, maxim.
I've concentrated on the target list, what was the wrong way.
