Is there any way to add an additional line of data to that already given for a given planet or moon? For instance, in the add-on I am working on for Alpha Centauri, I wanted to utilize my planetary classification list. So would I be able to have the planet name, and then a new line stating something like, "Gaian Type, Terrestrial Class)?

Not yet. Maybe in some future version of Celestia.

I can think of some workarounds
1. a Web page referenced by IntoURL in the ssc file.
2. specify the information as a prominant Location name in the ssc file
3. display the info by writing to the screen from a script

If you're using Windows, you might want to consider augmenting the Navigation/Tour_Guide menu item by modifying the file Celestia/guide.cel
Despite the name, it's not a script.

this seems to be a good canditate for a feature request.
I'd also find it usefull to have more (script?) control over the four display corners.
