feature request: free will of travel

I'd like a feature in which you can travel at your own will instead of just zooming in and out from planets. That is, for example, press the left mouse button and you travel forward, even if it's out into the open. As you hold the mouse button, you'll accelerate, but once you let go, you'll stop. This way, it's much easier to get different views of the Solar System.

Another way to do this is, when you left-click, you'll accelerate quickly if you're far from something, but as you approach something, you'll slow down. A speed of several light-years per second would be interesting between stars. I'd prefer the first method in the paragraph above though.

Propably you've overseen that this is already included in Celestia for quite a long time :?:

See help->controls in the Celestia menu :!:

Yeah, I guess I did over look it. Oh well. I was looking very thoroughly through the "navigation" section, not the "spaceflight" section.

Copied from the controls menu, I see these:

Spaceflight:
F1 : Stop
F2 : Set velocity to 1 km/s
F3 : Set velocity to 1,000 km/s
F4 : Set velocity to speed of light
F5 : Set velocity to 10x the speed of light.
F6 : Set velocity to 1 AU/s
F7 : Set velocity to 1 ly/s
A : Increase velocity
Z : Decrease velocity
Q : Reverse direction
X : Set movement direction toward center of screen

Oh well, I guess this post can be deleted.

You might also check the celestia directory for a text file that describes all of the current keyboard, mouse and joystick controls (KbdMouseJoyControls.txt).
