Will Nebulae, Star Clusters, etc. ever be in Celestia?

To begin with, ... Great Job to all who developed Celestia! I have often dreamt of an astronomy program that provides a realistic, 3-dimensional representation of our own galaxy, ... and the ability to travel within it!
I was so impressed, that the very next day after I downloaded Celestia, I brought a copy over to my father's house, ... who is also a big astronomy buff. He was equally amazed, ... but one of his first requests was to take him to the region around Orion's sword (in order to see the Orion Nebula). We now know that Celestia does not currently provide this feature. So here's some questions:
(1) Will Celestia ever incorporate Nebulae, Star Cluster, and a more detailed Milky Way?
(2) While the Earth representation is impressive, ... are there any more realistic models to download?
(3) Are Extrasolar Planets in Celestia, ... and if not, where can they be downloaded from?
And again, ... Great Job!

1) Aleady available, look in the Add-ons forum.
2) Yes, look in the textures forum.
3) Yes, but mostly fictional planets.

Oops! There are no extra solar planets in Celestia, that was my copy...

You might do a startover by downloading Franks educational activities at:
http://www.fsgregs.org/celestia/. They have included some of the better Addons available.
All in all there are about 4GB of addons and textures available on the net. Including all that you've asked for.
have fun

No... There are extrasolar planets in celestia..! They all have generic textures though.
Thanks, ...

Thank you everyone for your comments, ...
Is there a specific "add-on" link that would be best recommended for Nebulae and Star Clusters?

Hmmm...
Selden has several cluster definition files. And Rassilon has made some clusters with thousands of custom stars. I don't know for nebulae. I have about 20 ones, but no idea where they're all from.
Try 'Search' in the header above. And try 'Memberlist' for members page-links.

Check out these pics of M31 and M33
If you want the models and textures +DSC's go here
http://www.geocities.com/jestrjestr/extras/
The file is called 'Galaxies.zip'
Just unzip in your 'extras' folder. The model can be edited and used for nebulae as well,an example of this is NGC 604 shown below together with the M33 model above
You can download it here
http://www.geocities.com/jestrjestr/extras/
It's called 'NGC604.zip',unzip in 'extras'.
This one's my personal favourite of the galaxies I've done so far
This one you'll have to get from my slow FTP site
ftp://celestia:addons@81.111.74.239/
again unzip to your 'extras' folder
Hope you like them,cheers Jestr

Extrasolar planets are in Celestia...check out extrasolar.ssc, I think it's in Celestia/data folder. They are generic...but you can texture them to your taste. I'm busy doing this to mine, adding ringed gas giants, moons, asteriods and more! Star clusters are available if you try Rassilons cluster generator.
Rassilon has also made some fantastic nebula models with star and planetary systems..check out NGC1999 and the 'Rosetta'!
Check out his site and download the excellent texture packs available.
You will have a lot of fun here!!
Regards...bh.
