Just wondering how Celestia updates the star colours based on apparent magnitude (at least, I assume it does...)
If the star's base colour is given by R, G, B, where R,G and B represent the values of red green and blue, and if the star has apparent magnitude m, how is the colour adjusted?
I just ask because from reading my physics books, it appears there is a 2.5 brightness difference between different magnitudes, so if you assign R, G, B to magnitude zero, you can only get down to ~ magnitude 4 before the star becomes too dim to see if you multiply R, G and B by 2.5^(-4)...
