No, as far as I know. I have worked on a 43k ocean spec map (from 16 bit elevation map) but have not fineshed.

I don't know of any. Back in september, I was developing 43k version based on the 16bit elevation and the bluemarble data. But then I started grad school part-time (math) and I haven't had the time to mess with it. I may pick it back up over winter break.

I know the "nice 32k earth spec texture sceenshots" were not mine; "nice" was definitely not the adjective you used to describe my spec map . I believe they were DBrady's and Jens.

The site I used to create my 8k specmap has disappeared, so I cannot repeat the trick... :( I may try to find another source (sea level maps are no good source, especially for where I live)

Thanks everybody for your "reports". It's really important for me.

Walton,

sorry, I really must have hit you hard  at the time. I remember what it was...

I am curious: what is "part time graduate school?". Are you planning to do a "part time PhD in math"?;-)
