Question about use of folders

I need some help ....

What are the hires,medres,lores folders exactly for ?

How one can use them ?

What about the use of the "Texture" key in the solarsys.ssc file and those folders ?

config files I guess.

hires = high resolution, medres = medium resolution etc
They should hold the textures used by Celestia and the texture key in the solarsys.ssc point to witch one to use I suppose.
