Selecting/deselecting orbits

Hi all,

I am a new fan of Celestia. Everything is wonderful about it! I do have one question though.

When I select "Orbits", all planetary and their respective moon orbits are shown (in blue) the selected object orbit is of course red. Is it possible to select and show ONLY planetary orbits, and not draw all the moon orbits. Or vica versa, only show the moon orbits, and not the planetary ones.

I notice that asteroid/comet/spacecraft orbits are not shown unless one is selected red. Can they all be selected to be shown?

Jupiter looks crouded with all of the orbits of its moons shown. Can only the 4 Galilean ones be selected and not the outer ones?

This would be an easy feature to code if it is possible. It would be similar to the LABEL feature, ie only show those orbits that are selected. Let me know if this is something that can or can not be done.

Thanks!

Yes, this is possible in Celestia version 1.3.1pre9, which is available at http://63.224.48.65/celestia/files/ as http://63.224.48.65/celestia/files/celestia-win32-1.3.1pre9.exe (11 MB).

You select the Render Menu, and then the View Options sub-menu.

Selecting individual object orbits has not been implemented yet, but has been discussed. It is not known at this point in time if the developers have decided to add this function or not.

Hope this helps,

Thanks!
