The stars.dat file

Post #1by ajtribick » 26.08.2003, 20:09

What is the format of the stars.dat file? I only ask because I downloaded the really really huge stars.dat file (can't remember the link, sorry), and while there were loads of stars present, three of my favourite O-type stars, Theta1 Orionis A, B and C were missing. (OK, A and B are combined in the program but still).

I would now like to write a little program to compare the two files and see whether there are any more omissions in the extended database.

If this question has been asked before (as I am sure it has been), could you point me to the relevant place?

Thanks,

Chaos Syndrome.

Look through the readme file - you'll find this information towards the end.
