Mac System 10.2.6--need help

I am running a G3 laptop with 10.2.6
I have downloaded Celestia and put the resource foler in the Library/Ap Support folder as directed.
When I try to launch the program the little globe shows up on the dock bouncing for a few seconds then disapears (in other words, it doesn't launch)
Anyone have any ideas why not?
thanks!

I'm not Mac expert, but did you try to run it from a console? Perhaps this way you can see the nice error messages...

The error message indicates an installation problem.
Open a terminal window and enter the following:
cd ~
ls -l 'Library/Application Support/CelestiaResources'
and report the results.
