Is it time for a new version?

A lot of 1.3.1 pre-releases are available and a lot of new exciting features should be available like:
- LUA scripts;
- ground locations;
- virtual textures.
For me are enough, and I'm a little bit impatient :D .

Anybody knows when a new official version of Celestia will be released?

Maybe September ?.... October ?....................... December?
Is it possibile to have an answer please?

Bye - Paolo

Why waiting for the "official" release when you can get all the new features in
celestia-win32-1.3.1pre9.exe
from
http://ennui.celestiaproject.net/celestia/files/

?? :P

To Therry_d

I update from CVS on sourceforge.net and compile a pair of times per week so I have practically allways the most updated available version.
So this is not my problem.

Personally I do not agree with the strategy of including too many new features in a new version. And the next version will have a lot of significant improvements.

When a new official version is released, the official website is updated, some examples and data for the new features are included in the distribution package, some help for the development of new add-on is written etc.
So development is partially stopped and a new check of the situation is done.

It's a mere question of clarity, for instance bug reporting should be more clear. Personally I prefere work on an official version of the software.

But at the end it's not very important. :) It's only my opinion.

Mmm so it was a developer's concern. :oops:
I thought you were an end-user (like me).
Anyway i learned something today! :roll:

But tell me... how do you do this "check of the situation", where do you talk about it ? In the development forum, in the mailing list or elsewhere??
Who's taking the decision? Chris? How come "BobCelestia" know it'll be this month? :?:

I know i am curious but i am interested in Celestia development process.
Thx for your answer...

A new version is long overdue, but I'm not yet prepared to commit to a date when it will be ready.
