I don't know if anyone's had a go at this one...would it be possible to have a solar system flyby script...to work a bit like the demo?

Howdy bh,
What do you mean by "flyby"?
You can go here (
http://consul.com.ua/celestia/) to select options that create a script which visits the planets and moons in our solar system.
Or did you have something else in mind?

One of the .CELX scripts on SourceForge at
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/celestia/celestia/scripts/ (tour_system.celx) visits every solar system body defined in Celestia.

Very interesting.
I was very courious about the new celx format.
BTW I wonder why this subtree is not in my CVS synchronization.

Howdy guys,
There are a couple of different things I have found out with .celx scripts, at least in the Windows version ...
1. They must be located in the Celestia directory (noted in the User FAQ).
2. They can only be run from Celestia (File / Open Script). If you try to run by double-clicking the filename, Celestia thinks it's running a .cel script and produces a "{ expected at beginning ..." error.
3. Flash only seems to work under certain circumstances, which I have not fully figured out yet.
Best of luck ...

Find the folder/directory named "Celestia" and put the script file there. Then start Celestia and use the File / Open Script menu options, browse to the script location, and then run the script.
Does this help?
Not sure when .celx support was added, but I'm pretty sure it's one of the 1.3.1 pre-releases. So, make sure you've got one before trying.

Hello Don...bh (not logged in) here. Thanks for your tips. I'm using 1.3.0, so I guess I will need one of the prereleases. I have prerelease 6 and 9, but they do slow my system. I need to find 1.3.1? Where will I find this one?
Many regards...bh.
