Well all things considered I have had a very busy night. I have just finished rebuilding Earth Central to version 2. I have been working this over for about 9 hours on and off. Here is a shot of the top of the page.
This is also were you can download my new 16k texture as it is ready for public consumption. Big thanks go out to all the forum members that gave me a hand with the testing of this beast. Your input made it possible to get things ready to roll allot faster than if I had to do it all by myself.
This is the version 1.0 of the texture with a second version to replace it be summers end hopefully. I have taken what a few of you have suggested and split most of the textures up by sizes. I no longer build in the specmap into the texture due to size issues so you will have to use a suitable specmap with these textures. There are a couple ready for download at the site. I also posted the Northern-Winter cloudmap for a separate download as that has been asked for as well. The Northern-Summer cloudmap is being reworked so I hope to have it ready for a parallel release with version 2 of the 16k texture.
I have a few last things to wrap up on the NASA educational Mars Terraforming project than I can get back to work on the Earth 18000 BCE texture. So you can get all the goodies over at the new Earth Central

Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Don,
First of all : thanks for all your textures, they are fantastic.
Second : why do you change your page links when you upgrade version ? I have to redo all the link on the add on database and I beleive all the people linking to you have to do so (at least Selden, Billybob, JeamTag, ...). You probably don't imagine what you did there !
So, the question : Iis it possible for you to keep the same address for your page ?

Hey Don, that's the understatement of the century (so far)
3:18 am is definately a long night!
I absolutely love your textures and will be using them a lot. The 16K Earth texture adds so much detail that it's almost real! Any more detail and I'd be looking for bridges and buildings
Here's a great big THUMBS UP on all your hard work Don!
