Hey StarLion I'm also knowledgeable about the borg.
That depends on what planet it is, and how heavily it is defended.
If the planet is inhabited the borg will not destroy it.
They will simply assimilate it. If the planet is uninhabited the borg might make a settlement there if they believe the point will gain them an advantage in becoming perfet, a trap if you will. If the borg were ever to destroy a planet, they would most likely be doing it to stop a species from harvesting it's recources to escape the borg, but of course "Resistance is utile" right? So the borg would most likely harvest the resources then destroy it. Depending on the radius of he planet a single borg cube can destroy a planet in a small time period such as 1 hour to 12 hours. A small moon can be destroyed with one torpedo attack. There are also a variety of different cubes, they serve hundreds of roles. Some may be harvesting cubes (for resources or bringing back a drones' processing nodes) or for destruction or assimilation. These cubes carry different varieties of drones and different amounts of drones. They are also armed diffirently, there is also something called a tactical cube, it is more hevily armed than a cube. The tactical Cube that voyager met was a class 4, there are most likely many more classes ranging up to maybe 20. Each one is different in some way. The borg have something called a multi-kinetic neutronic mine. The blast yield of this device is 5,000,000 isotons.
A isonton is around 5.38 megatons, in conclusion the yield of this device would be 26900000 which you have to admit is impressive. It would in the words of 7 of 9 "affect an entire star system". The borg most likely have weapons still stronger than this. I hope I have been helpful atleast slightly. :D
Yeah, when is Chris getting out of the hospital?
When he does, you should make your own account here.
You may be twins but you are still very different.
BTW You should PM me and tell me what the hell that surprise of your's is!

Brian is the twin brother of the real Borg Collective.
What kind of starships are you talking about?
It depends, once the borg assimilate enough information it becaomes almost immune to the ship.
If the ships were cuntinuosly rotating they're shield frequencies and phaser frequencies it would Take;

Federation:
5 sovereign classes (800m)
8 Akira classes (500m)
4 prometheus classes (300m)
6 Defiant classes (125m)
5 Galaxy (Venture Type) classes (650m)
8 norway classes (450m) approx. (the federation has a vareity of different vessels in service maybe upto 12 classes currently, and 20+ outdated several in development)

Romulans:
They would probably just send in 8 Valdores type Warbirds (900m)
and about 12 D'Dederix classes (1 km long approx)

Klingons:
8 NegH ' Var classes (750m)
14 VoR ' cHa classes (500m)
20 Bird Of Prey (B ' rel) classes (100m)

Dominion:
4 Battle Ships (1km long approx)
10 Battle Cruisers (700m)
45 Scouts (150m)

Speicies 8472:
1 Battleship

That was to destroy 1 cube for a sphere just multiply the ships needed by 0.60, for a scout 0.10. For a Class 4 Tactical cube 1.75.
To destroy earth 3 hours for 1 cube, the moon 1.
If more ships are used... Do the math.
To assimilate A Assimilation cube would be used, with many drones.
To assimilate our planet with one of these would take a while.
Maybe 1 month. A cube of this type holds as many as 120,000 drones.
I hope that was helpful :)

Thank you -Shadow-
Just an update:
_____________________________________________________________
What is done:
There is a new planate around vega it is called vega 1
(it is where I am centering anything that goes with voyiger, there is a destroyed borg cube compleat with an orbiting escape sphere), and I did a grate job on a broken moon, if Ido say so myself 8)

There is a borg world (I had a heck of a time with that textur  .There are 132 borg cuibes there)
_____________________________________________________________
What is not done:
I am curently working on a new Sollersystem around a diffirent star so it dosent mess with the real part of celestia (this is where I am centering everything from star trek the next generation), I could use a moddel of the Enterprise, and spacedock for this :? I might be abel to do spacedock, but there is no way that I could do the enterprise :!:

After this I will add Romulus and remus, vulcin, and the Klingon homeworld :D
_____________________________________________________________
Size so far 18 mb
Estimated Size When done: 30 mb
45% Compleat

Umm I tell them all, Don't call me -Shadow-! Without the hyphens thank you. http://www.bcfiles.com has lots of ships for Bridge Commander, they also have textures ready. Though they are in .NIF format, which I don't know if you can export.
Planet Details:

Romulus:
Twin planet of Remus, Romulus has warm weather and very cold weather in the mountainous areas (just like on earth :D). Romulus Is known for it's beauty throughout the galaxy. So make it Beautiful! hehe

Remus: One half Faces the local Sun permanetly, the temperatures on this side are extreme. The inhabitants are on the dark side, which also has vast amounts of Dilithium. There are also many Weapon Construction Bases on Remus, The main weapons and Dilithum supply of the Romulans
Is from here. So you should add some large buildings if possible to the texture.

If you haven't watch Star trek Nemesis, If will give you a more detailed view of the Planets.
http://www.pcnet.com/~jdutka/trek/ Has lots of information about the Races of Star Trek.

Kronos: The Planet is about 30% covered with Buildings Cities are cramped with many many buildings. Kronos is also Dark most of the day.

Vulcan: Vulcan's surface is mostly covered with Volcanoes, the planet is very hot and rocky, the planet has little soil and little place suitable for living.

On google type in Star trek Models or Star trek meshes, you might find some good ones. Some meshes take up 2 Mb without the texture others more.

Qua'pLa!

also, chris...
NuQ daQ YuH' Da' PoL?
Translation: Where do you heep the chocolate around here?

Also Spell Check some of the ship names before you type them in for Celestia, they have some typos.

I think 'The Borg' and his brother and 'Shadow' need to drink vast quantities of Fullers ESB... then us Eartlhings might make some sense of this whole sorry mess.

I'm really not worried by any threat of the 'Borg'...I think there are larger issues at stake...ie. the price of a descent pint in England...and the state of our Cricket team...!!??

Maybe I'm the first for the 'Disintegrator'...oh well...such is life.

Regards...bh.

ESB = Extra Special (or Strong) Bitter

I think perhaps BH needs to remember that not everyone is an Anglophile with intimate knowledge of the pub scene :)

Also, not everyone here is at an age at which they are permitted to imbibe such potations.

Shadow, he's referring to a type of beer. A collection of reviews can be found at http://beeradvocate.com/beer/rate_results/71/219/ Certainly the descriptions there makes it sound rather good. :)

I'd prefer Grolsch
Star Lion are you reffering to the model found at http://www.bcfiles.com?
I do not get stations from there so I don't know who to ask when it will be complete.

I'm working on a version of Vulcan myself (Under the thread related to 40 Eridani). Take a look :)

I'll be interested to see your interpretation of the planet

Cheers,

Cormoran

ps: I'm a Brit too, but the use of ESB is lost on me lol

And in what is probably the most jaw-dropping scene I've seen in anything Star Trek since well, pretty much anything from the Motion Picture... it takes only four or five Species 8472 ships (and just one shot!!!) to blow up an entire Borg planet.

(actually, I think the intro to one of those 8472 eps was pretty damn cool too. Three Borg Cubes approach the camera doing the usual 'we are the borg, resistance is futile, yaddayadda spiel', and they get utterly destroyed in three separate shots coming from off camera.... and then the opening credits roll :D)

I really liked 8472, finally we had an alien that wasn't a shimmery energy being or a human with a crinkly bit on their nose. I thought they were criminally under-used.

Yeah, I loved Scorpion 1&2. 8472 were together, in around 6 episodes.
Those were 3 battleships and an, "enchancer" lol That's what I call it atleast. It took 1 Battle ship to destroy an Entire Cube! That was amazing.
Sadly 8472 didn't rock in Armada 2. If they did It would be impossible to stop them!. Star Lion when you make the 8472 ships, don't forget they're made out of 100% organic material.

Vulcan Will look better when he finishes it, with my suggestions.
Try http://www.armadafleetcommand.com/afc/m ... ad&cid=147 for Shuttles.
You have to register at their site to view and download some things.
http://www.bcfiles.com has an amazing Enterprise-E, It's done by Hawkeye and it's over 6000 polys 8O I don't think they have it in .3ds formatt.
Search for it on the site. It's called Nemesis Sovereign, again by Hawkeye.

looks grate but

Post #19by star ion » 05.08.2003, 21:13

That enterprize e looks grate :D (in the game :? )
so are there any enterprise e models in .3ds format?

update: I underestimatd the size ofthe addon, after dounloading all of the ship models I wanted to use (besides the enterprise-e) the size ziped is 27.83 MB!! 8O
the size un-ziped is 32.56 MB!!! 8O

when its finished it will be somewhwere around 45, to 50 MB :( , thats why I am going to split it up into mor than 1 file:
one for the fediration sollersystem, one for the voyiger/borg sollersystem, one for the vulcin system, one for the klingon system, one for the Romulin\Remin system.
each of these files shouldent be larger than 10mb each :D and that will make it much easer for anyone to get, and for me to send (the sending shouldent be a problem in the near futiar, I am geting a DSL conection :D )
