CAn i use normal Map`s on a ATI?

Hi,

I`ve try'ed out to use normal map`s in my celestia but i can see no differences between normal map and NO. Bump Map is disabled.
CAN I use normal Map`s on a Radeon 9500 128MB with Cat 3.5?
If Yes, please help me to see the effect.
I use Celestia 1.3.1 pre 5 and here is the openGL info:

Yes, normal maps will work fine on a Radeon 9500.

I have an ATI Radeon 8500.
Does normal maps work also on this graphic card?
If yes how can I make them work?
