Collisions in Celestia

Is it real to simulate any space collision in Celestia?
For example, asteroids with planets or with each others, comets etc?
I'll think it'll be great

Yes, indivudial, of course it would be great but for now... hardly. This feature could be present in version... 6.0(?). Who know, only Chris...

In principle it's straight forward to include "movies" in Celestia.
The Beginning and Ending directives let you specify how long each "frame" lasts, that is, how long each set of objects is shown.
Someone just has to generate them. It's a lot of work, like any animated move, except that the components of the drawings are 3D instead of 2D.

As a related topic should be very intresting if the collision in celestia could be implemented at least for the observer, so when navigating or landing on a surface the observer could not penetrate or go trough the body.
Returning on the original thread I think that a complete automatic simulation of collision detection between celestial bodies should be extremely time expensive because of the continuous check of intersection of bodies paths.
Instead as said by Selden, with begginnign and ending directives in SSC files the original bodies and the impact results should be represented quite easily.
To improve the beauty of the visualization of the collision an amount of standardized debris produced by the impact should be produced with automatic trajectories by Celestia with a random generation after a particular directive in SSC file.

So, it so hard to implement collisions of Celestia objects.
And what about observer (camera) collisions with space objects (offered by Paolo). I think it's not so hard and (I hope
) it will be included in version 1.3.5 or 1.4.0
