I would like to display Celestia across 2+ monitors to feel more "imersed" in the program. My laptop supports multiple monitors under Windows XP home using a mobile Radeon 7500 w/64mb. I first tested some Windows programs like solitaire and was able to display across both monitors. I was also able to run another instance of solitaire on the second monitor. However, when displaying Celestia across 2 monitors, the primary LCD looks fine but the second monitor only shows Celestia's menu bar and window frame (no planets/stars etc.).
I tried another OpenGL app and recieved the same response as Celestia (no display only the window). Is this a limitation of OpenGL? Any suggestions to get this to work? I think this would ba a great addition to Celestia if possible to implement it in a future release.
Multiple monitor support in Celestia?
Robohoba,
Unfortunatly your problem is not an OpenGL or Celestia limitation. Its a limitation of your video card hardware +/ or drivers.
I have a GeForceMX200 Nvidia card that supports n-view with which I display celestia across both monitors in both windowed and fullscreen mode. (up to 3200x1024)
You could try to upgrade your video card drivers, though I am guessing it is a hardware limitation.
