Hi out there,

since yesterday there are celestia packages available for pkgsrc (http://pkgsrc.org/) users (not limited to NetBSD, since pkgsrc supports wide variety of operating systems including e.g., Solaris, Darwin, IRIX, Linux or FreeBSD and OpenBSD).

There are three separate packages, misc/celestia (http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/misc/celestia/) -- basic data, documentation and simple GLUT-driven display window, misc/celestia-gnome (http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/misc/celestia-gnome/) -- GTK+/GNOME frontend, and misc/celestia-kde (http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/misc/celestia-kde/) -- QT/KDE frontend.

These packages are based on original work by Cesar C. Catrian in pkgsrc-wip (http://pkgsrc-wip.sf.net/).

Thank you for the great software, i was really impressed after using it for a while!

Is that gnome package for gnome 1 or gnome2?

Also, how do I use them on Linux? <I'm running Red Hat 9.0 with Gnome2.2 only>

Thanks.
