Since you are again one of these 'experts' who does not care telling us about which OS you are using, I should answer you:

After switching to Automag (CTR+Y) this is /autosaved/ in Celestia KDE. You may also set Automag conveniently in the GUI Menue under Options->Objects.

You will presumably answer me then: but I am using Windows!

My reply: Why did'nt you tell me in the first place?;-)

In fact, our Windows programmers seem to have forgotten to a large extent about Automag at the GUI level. No menue entry, no saving...

In Linux, Automag is ON by default!
In Windows, Automag is OFF by default...

The real problem is that we don't have enough programmers, Chris has to do the win GUI maintenance in addition to the engine and OpenGL code. That's a lot of work, and I know first hand that maintening a GUI eats a lot of time, in fact it didn't leave me any time to spend on OpenGL which was one of the primary reason why I joined the project...

Agreed, of course. But perhaps a tiny little reason was also the fact that until /very/ recently, Chris was not able to check for himself what was happening at the KDE front;-). Neither you nor me can work on the windows GUI, because we do not have a (commercial) compiler for Windows.
