the mercury transit on may the 7th, as seen from earth, with a small FOV

Bad time for this quiz :lol:

Moon is small grey dot in the top-left part of Sun's disc.

This view shows the latest Earth transit seen from Mars, May 11th 1984.
Arthur C. Clarke wrote a good short story (I don't remember the name)
about doomed Mars mission where sole survivor viewed this phenomena.

Earth transits are even rarer than Venus transits from Earth.
On the other hand, martians have exciting double transit to watch.

I do, but fortune favours the prepared mind - I've already watched this transit in Celestia.
The short story was called "Transit of Earth", and was written in the 1960s.
