i have a question: what is the "normalmap"


ah, i almost forget it, has anybody done a Io bumpmap???

Hi ElPelado,

A normal map is a special version of a bump map which is direct used by the grafic card. If you use a bump map then Celestia convert this internaly to a normal map while it load the textures. Therefore works the DXT texture compression (DDS files) only with a normal map. Celestia can't use bump maps in DDS format.
