Is the size of stars is accurate when viewing from Earth??
when i view the sun, moon from earth of altitude 150m in celestia 1.6,the size of them seems to be much smaller than the real,is it true??
Hi. The actual size of the sun and moon from Earth in Celestia are a bit smaller than in reality, due to the choice of 45 degrees as the field of view (FOV). The average field of view of a person staring out into space is about 120 degrees, but your "screen" is wide (your view outside). On a computer, your screen is much smaller, so you have to decide how much of the sky you want to fit into that small area. As you narrow the FOV in Celestia, things enlarge, but you get to see less of the sky in your window. It is a compromise between size of the window and size of objects in it.
Try increasing the FOV to about 35 degrees, if you want to see the sun and moon in more realistic size. To do so, press and hold down the shift key, press the left mouse button and while holding it down, drag the mouse forward. The FOV indicator on the bottom left will change to a smaller number.
