Was this an impact?

Hi all,

While i'm playing with Celestia and testing new textures i found this interesting geological formation. I don't know but it looks like an impact crater. Does someone know more about this?

Bye Jens

It's Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. Not marked as an impact basin on a couple of maps I own - just a division in the northern end of the Andes, with an embayment between, it seems.

I might answer a PM or a post if its relevant to something.

Ah, never say never!!
Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it

Thanks for your understanding.

Yah yah yah!
But the Chicxulub crater basin is baried. Its not visible from the surface only by ground penatrating radar I believe. I think this was going in the direction of visible craters.

There are almost 200 identified impact craters on Earth. I made shots of the biggest ones with Celestia but they are not very good. The best I have is located in Northern Quebec, Canada.
