Celestia to feature in live multimedia event - Dublin, May 2

Hi,

Just to let you know that I'll be presenting a live multimedia event called 'The Third Way' in Dublin's prestegious Bank-of-Ireland Arts Centre in downtown Dublin, on May 23rd.

The event is phase 2 - a test phase - for a major event to take place in late 2004.

The event aims at connecting humnanity with science. It will feature my own music - a combination of acoustic and electronic music - as well as 3D sound spatialization using the unique IRCAM 'SPAT' Realtime 3D sound processor.

One or more large screens will feature sequences with CELESTIA. Other sequences will use the NCSA/Haydey Planetarium PARTIVIEW MilkyWay Digital Universe.

The 2004 event will be a much larger event to take place inside a Cathedral.

A request for help - I'm relatively new to Celestia - and any help on how to script sequences, or on navigating journies in realtime would be appreciated (I will post further questions to this forum).
I'll also keep you appraised on how this all pans out (no pun intended).

Regards,
Kevin Nolan.

Sounds great! Hope it all goes to plan...

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/view ... cvs-markup

This might be useful to you as an example script.

This script wont run in celestia as the planets and objects it references arent part of it.

Take note that it is nice to preload textures before you travel to keep things smooth, especially if you are using any of the larger textures.
