I've just installed celestia, very good stuff, i like it. but some problems:

-I can't see the Mir spacestation at all. It's possible to select by name, but when I go there there is nothing there, nor Label. All other object is visible.

-where to copy the downloded dds files to operate well? (unzipped or zipped?)

-I miss the superb lens flare effect of OpenUniverse. Will it be implemented?

thanks for your answer

sip,

Mir is no longer in orbit. It came down on March 23, 2001.
You can use the "Time" menu to set Celestia to a date before then to watch Mir in orbit. (Celestia has "Beginning" and "Ending" directives that control when objects are visible.)

Many people have made DDS files. Unfortunately, they're scattered all over the Internet. A few people have made lists of some of them, or you can use your favorite Web search engine. One place to start your search could be at my Celestia web page. Click on the (www) icon below.

It is my understanding that it is very unlikely that Celestia will ever show any more flare than it already does.

I hope this helps a little.

DDS: I asked you, where to install or copy these downloaded files in Celestia folder in my harddrive.
