7,

I'm not sure about the Mac or Linux versions, but joystick control already exists in the Windows version of Celestia.

Unfortunately, it's not as versatile as might be. It'd be *really* nice if the user could assign or reassign which did what, especially with joysticks that have more rotation axes and buttons (hint, hint)

According to Celestia's "Controls" file:

Code: Select all

F8 enables the joystick

X axis    = Yaw
Y axis    = Pitch
L trigger = roll left  ( = button C on my Microsoft Precision Pro)
R trigger = roll right ( = button D)
Button 1  = slower     ( = trigger button )
Button 2  = faster     ( = left, larger, thumb button)

I hope this helps a little.

Joy stick ?

Thank you...

I have initiated the Joy stick controls ...

This is a huge enhancement to the experience !

May I suggest that a targeting system would greatly improve functionality.... perhaps even a route planner ?

Once again... thank you for your help.
