Archive the Celestia Motherlode

We all know that at some point, the Celestia Motherlode will go down from the internet. Should this happen, we must prepare by archiving all files and web pages so that after it is gone (in the inevitable future), people will still be able to access. I am aware of the Wayback Machine, but from what I have checked, it has not archived all pages of the Celestia Motherlode. We must not let it get lost in the many pages of the endless web, so we must save it before is too late. We must archive the Celestia Motherlode.

There is only about 60Gb on celestialmotherload, not as much as I expected.

I am sure I am not the only one who has crawled it.

There was likely more than before. I am almost certain that some creators directory had files that were removed and therefore cannot be considered a complete archive. Unless we can get into contact with the owners of the files, it will be incomplete.

Please make a torrent file from the open source or otherwise legally not restricted material!

Or a .zip, .7z, or .rar file!

Wait, no one's going to keep the Celestia Motherlode running anytime soon?

No, the Motherlode is not going away any time soon, unless something catastrophic happens to ibiblio, which seems unlikely.

Yes, I agree with selden. While I am aware that it's not gone right now, you never know when a website goes down, so by doing this, people can still download from there.

Make a donation to ibiblio so it can continue to host motherlode and other sites.

I would if I could, but unfortunately I have no money. Getting back to the topic, I am not very interested anymore in Celestia, so I may be on hiatus for some time and I will only come back to make posts. I believe someone else will have to take the honors of doing what the topic says.

I do believe that addon pages should be created within this forum; there was one for all of Cham's addons. The Motherlode really is dead.

The listing for Cham is here, though the referenced pages no longer exist.
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=15543

I have everything listed here if anyone can't download it for some reason.
http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/creators/cham/

I have no idea how complete the list is however.

Cham has also made sprite models, but the links are dead. For example: /viewtopic.php?f=23&t=17258 and /viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17243

Do the links work with Wayback Machine?

Unfortunately not.

Actually, all of the download links in the Wayback Machine's archives of the Motherlode do not work.

There is a nice website (in French) here:

I'm aware of that website. I stumbled upon it some time ago.

If we archive the whole Motherlode as a torrent, then that gives a problem: many of the addons are conflicting.

Could you stop bumping topics? It's getting incredibly annoying.
