Distance limit for SSC objects

I'm a newbie to Celestia, trying to draw successively large cubes around objects to explain order-of-magnitude (logarithmic) distance scales. As referenced in the Celestia/SSC File Guide, "Objects defined in SSC files cannot be seen when the viewpoint is more than 1 light-year from their Star or Barycenter." Beyond that 1ly distance, objects -- in my case, a ~1ly cube -- simply winks out and isn't displayed.

Is there a new feature or kludge that gets around this 1ly limit?

You can use DSC objects for displaying larger scales.

For an example, see https://www.classe.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/files/graticules-cmod-150.zip

Thanks, Selden. Works fine. The Graticules code is a great example to build from.
