Christophe and I have prepared binary RPM's of the new KDE-3.0x version of Celestia-1.2.5 for Mandrake and SuSE (>=7.3) Linux distributions, respectively. Both include some remaining corrections of textures and in solarsys.ssc by Grant Hutchison that are missing in the official Windows version.

There you also find the source code that includes all of Grant's corrections.
Note that the textures have to be downloaded separately. The celestia-kde-textures-1.2.5-* RPM includes the default set of medres and lores textures, while the
celestia-kde-lores-1.2.5-* RPM should only be downloaded by people with "weak" graphics cards.
Hopefully, the Mandrake RPM's will be available soon on SourgeForge, too...
