And I miss texture for minor moons of Saturn (specially Prometheus and Epimetheus) and for other asteroids like Steins and Lutetia.
You are misinterpreting the facts: In ChrisL's addon, the .dxt5nm files are high resolution
normalmaps that are wrapped around asteroid models of lower resolution. This technique creates an impression of 3d models with much higher resolution and thus saves a lot of resources. It is possible to apply also a conventional texture besides the normalmap, but there is no global map of Vesta containing exclusively
albedo variations.
Anyway, the title of your thread :
Vesta, 1 year and almost NOTHING is simply impertinent!
Notably, since you went through all these points already earlier and ChrisL explained all the reasoning to you half a year ago!
Since a long time, no development is done anymore for rendering paths other than OpenGL 2. You should know this meanwhile.
