Planetarium mode - where am I?

Putting Celestia in planetarium mode (CTRL+G while in Sync Orbit), I wonder where I actually land on The Earth. I can tell by the look of the sky that I am looking north. So to see the southern sky I need to turn the earth upside down. I would be grateful if somebody could confirm this. does anyone know how I can land at a particular geographical coordinates?
Also I was puzzled to see (on the ecliptic line), the word EARTH appearing against the star background. For example see the following:
cel://SyncOrbit/Sol:Earth/2011-02-06T13:48:32.10087?x=+ISUbyXSGw&y=ek5ze4BKIg&z=ZZEQiLmcAQ&ow=-0.591704&ox=0.178597&oy=-0.722612&oz=0.30955&fov=31.4737&ts=1<d=0&p=0&rf=38283&lm=79&tsrc=0&ver=3
Is this a bug?
Many thanks,
Ben
