Need Help, First Time I Use Celestia

I wanna add some addons, i found some of them dificult to setup

for example. Calisto Moon from John Van Vliet

I download the John van Vliet 16K Callisto Surface Virtual Textures. but the image is the same as the celestia original.

I use these directory
c:\Astronomy\Celestia\Extras\JohnVV\\textures\hires\callisto\level0 to level4
|Callisto.ssc | callisto.ctx

What i did wrong..

Not too much wrong by the looks of it.

Maybe it's best to try going back to Callisto again.

Move the curser over Callisto and use right click button on the mouse which should bring up a menu as shown in the screenshot.



Move down the list of menu items until you get to Alternate Surfaces.
There you should see listed : Normal, Limit of knowledge and hopefully something like JohnVV (I don't have JohnVV's Callisto installed)
Click on the JohnVV and hopefully your add-on texture should appear.
To go back to default texture you will have to click on Normal

The only other problem i can see is that the ctx file has not been put into the hires folder
