I have the MSI GeForce4 Ti4400 128DDR

When researching which card to buy, I found that the MSI is made my Creative making it the same card.

I have heard good things about the PNY and Leadtek cards, they are a bit dearer though.

I will just say that since installing my MSI card I've had no problem whatsover with it.

eVGA's cards have the best coolers bar none. They use a combination of fans and heatpipes for both sides of the card. Worth checking out if you can find one.

I just bought a GeForce 4 TI4200 64 MG card for only $125 at Best Buy in the U.S. I've found it on the web for a similiar price. It works just fine and has been rated as faster than a 128 MG GeForce TI 4600 in some applications. The place I researched it, stated that the 4200 was a great buy for the money and the 4600 was not worth the extra price.

fsgregs,
I have to disagree with your asesment of the Ti4600. I had a Ti4200 with the 64megs of fast DDR and I can tell you flat out there is a big diference between the 4200 and 4600. The Ti 4600 has a faster core clock and memory clock and has a 10.0GB/sec. memory bandwidth over the Ti4200's 8.0GB/sec. memory bandwidth . The memory is faster than Ti4200 64meg cards as per everyones rating. I don't know were you got your info but its not quite right. I see much faster loading of textures with Ti4200 is a great card but its still not as fast as the Ti4600 unless you overclock the heck out it. And the additional memory for textures is very handy. Take my word for it. There is a diference.

fsgregs,

Perhaps you're thinking about the performance difference between a 64MB 4200 and a 128MB 4200. The standard 64MB version is supposed to be somewhat faster than the larger 4200. Also, there are a few small companies who have come out with souped up 4200 models with faster memory and faster clocks that are almost as fast as standard 4600 cards.

(Personally, I went with a standard speed 128MB 4200. It is plenty fast enough for me, except for those high resolution DDS clouds that run at 4fps :( )

Yep, I was thinking of the comparison

Selden and Don, you're right. I was thinking of the comparison between a TI 4200 64 MG and 4200 model with 128 MG. I'm a total novice with respect to cards and I was just repeating what one of the electronics website reviews said about the TI 4200. I'm sure the 4600 is better.
