If you tought flying Martin Schwegier's Orbiter was hard...
It just became harder!

Martin Schweiger's Orbiter 2003 was released yesterday, and it is well worth the wait!

It got a new, even more realitsic nevtonian physics engine, new graphics, new ships, new stations, new effects (!), and a lot of engine improvements.

Orbiter 2003 is a whole new simulator, and by far the most impressive Orbiter update ever. 8) :D

And yes; it is still free to download and use.

I still wonder why no one has made extrasolar planets for Orbiter yet...skimming through the addons I didnt see any...well none I noticed...

But yes this program is very cool...Not easy to land....

The reason is that Orbiter doesn't allow extrasolar planets . . . You can't actually visit the stars in Orbiter--they're just background. Given that Orbiter is a realistic space sim, this is quite a reasonable thing to do--you'd spend months waiting to reach the stars, even with the maximum time acceleration of 1000x. :)

Ahh well that explains it....There is an SDK for it may be possible to develop a ship with hyperspace features and maybe a star or two...Who knows maybe the next version of Orbiter will include that possibility....
